AMAYA KAVYA

1. Introduction and scope

This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") explains how the website at https://amayakavya.com and its subpages (the "Site"), operated by Amaya Kavya ("Amaya Kavya", "he", or "his"), uses cookies and similar storage technologies, and what choices you ("you") have. It applies worldwide and should be read together with the Privacy Policy. It is intended to be consistent with the European Union and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR"), the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (the "PECR"), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the "CCPA" and "CPRA"), and comparable frameworks. Where a law that applies to you grants you greater rights than this Policy describes, that law prevails.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A "cookie" is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. "Similar technologies" include browser local storage and session storage, the cache populated by a service worker, and comparable mechanisms that read or write information on your device. In this Policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.

Such technologies are commonly grouped by purpose. Strictly necessary storage is required for a site to work or to provide a feature you ask for. Functional storage remembers your preferences. Analytics storage measures how a site is used. Advertising storage builds profiles to target advertisements. This Site uses only the first category, as described below.

3. Summary

The Site is a personal portfolio delivered as a static Progressive Web App. It does not set advertising, analytics, or profiling cookies, it does not track you across other websites, and it embeds no third-party advertising, analytics, social media, or media-player code. The only information stored on your device is the limited, strictly necessary data needed for the Site to load quickly, work offline, and remember the state of features you choose to use, such as a game's best score. None of it is used to identify you, and none of it is transmitted to Amaya Kavya.

4. Storage this Site places on your device

The list below describes, in plain terms, the storage the Site may create. All of it is first-party (set by amayakavya.com itself), strictly necessary or functional, and stored only on your device.

  • Service worker cache. Stores copies of pages, styles, scripts, fonts, and the offline page so the Site loads quickly and still works without a connection. It is strictly necessary, stays until you clear your browser cache, and is replaced automatically whenever a new version of the Site is deployed.
  • Feature state in local storage. Remembers the state of things you interact with, such as your best scores in the Play section, which are saved under keys that begin with ak-. It is functional, stays on your device until you clear it, and is never sent anywhere.
  • Search index in local storage. May keep a copy of the on-site search index so search works offline and opens instantly. It is refreshed from the network and is removed when you clear site data.

The Site does not itself set any HTTP cookie. Your hosting and security infrastructure may set a strictly necessary cookie for load balancing or abuse prevention; any such cookie is operational, contains no advertising or profiling data, and is covered by the processor's own terms referenced in the Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party cookies

The Site sets no third-party cookies. It self-hosts its typeface and loads no external fonts, scripts, advertising, analytics, social widgets, comment systems, or embedded players, so visiting a page does not hand your data to any third party for their own purposes. If the Site ever links you to an external destination, that destination's own cookie practices apply once you leave.

6. Consent and legal basis

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, the UK PECR, and the GDPR, consent is required before storing or accessing information on your device except where the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested. Because the Site uses only strictly necessary and functional storage of the kind described above, and sets no advertising or analytics cookies, no cookie consent banner is required and none is shown. The lawful basis for strictly necessary storage is Amaya Kavya's legitimate interest in operating a functioning, secure, fast website, and the corresponding "legitimate uses" and functionality exemptions under the DPDP Act, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws. Should any non-essential cookie ever be introduced, your prior, freely given, specific, informed consent will be requested first, and this Policy will be updated before that happens.

7. How to control or delete storage

You are always in control of what is stored on your device, and the Site works even if you clear or block this storage. You can:

  • clear cookies, cached files, and site data for amayakavya.com through your browser's settings or site-information panel;
  • browse in a private or incognito window, which discards site storage when the window is closed;
  • unregister the service worker and delete cached storage from your browser's developer or application settings; and
  • configure your browser to block or limit cookies and local storage generally, recognising that doing so may affect features on this and other sites.

Guidance for managing storage is published by the makers of the major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because the Site performs no cross-site tracking and serves no advertising, there is nothing for a browser "Do Not Track" signal or a Global Privacy Control signal to disable. No personal information is sold or shared as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA.

9. Your rights

Information stored on your device under this Policy is generally not personal data that identifies you. To the extent any such information is treated as personal data under the law that applies to you, the rights described in the Privacy Policy, including access, correction, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, apply equally here.

10. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in practice or law. The "Last updated" date above indicates the latest revision. Any material change that would introduce non-essential cookies will be accompanied by an appropriate consent mechanism.

11. Contact

Questions about this Policy or about cookies and storage on the Site may be raised through the contact page or a profile in the about section.

12. Governing law

This Policy is governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you hold under the laws of your own country of residence.
